Dear United Community Church Family,

Hallelujah, the state has decided to move Somerset County into the next lower phase of yellow.  This means that we as a church can begin to meet again, but with some restrictions in place.  So, starting this Sunday, May 17 we are going to open up for church services.  Following are the details of how this will happen.

Worship Services

  • We are being limited to a maximum of 25 people, by the state, in our church at a time.  Due to this fact we are making several changes
    1. More Services - We are increasing the number of services that we are offering to allow more people to come into our services.  We will begin by offering 4 services.
      1. • Saturday – 7 PM
      2. • Sunday – 8 AM
      3. • Sunday – 9:30 AM
      4. • Sunday – 11 AM
    2. Sign up for services – Due to the fact of limiting the number of seats we will need to have a sign up for which service you would like to attend.  You may sign up online at www.volunteersignup.org/33KBH or by calling the church at 395-5810 or Pastor Dean at 814-442-1453.  You will need to do a slot for each family member that will be attending with you.  (The online sign up requires you to put your name, email, and phone number.  You can skip the email and simply use the same phone number for each family member you are registering.)
    3. Seating - We will be sitting in every other row and spacing out families to have 6 feet between each family.
    4. Offering – We will NOT be passing the offering plate, but will have available the offering plates after the service for the collection of our offerings.
    5. Greeting Time – We will not be doing a hand shake/ hugging time during our service.
    6. Online services – We will continue to live broadcast our service.  We will only live broadcast the 8 AM and 11 AM services
    7. Parking Lot – We will continue to broadcast all our services onto 88.1 FM for anyone to come and listen in the parking lot.  (You do not need to sign-up if you are going to listen in the parking lot.)

Sunday School / Wednesday evening Bible studies

  • We will not be meeting for Sunday School or Wednesday evening studies in person until our county goes into the green phase.
  • Breakfast and Wednesday evening meal will not happen until we enter into the green phase

Keeping you safe

  • Greeters - We will not have a greeter at the door handing out bulletins.  (Bulletins will be available for you to pick up and take with you.)
  • Disinfecting - We will be disinfecting the facility before each service
  • Entering for the services – Due to the fact that we need time between each service to disinfect we will post sign on the front doors when each service time can enter.  Please do not enter until your service time is posted!
  • Helping others stay well – if you are not feeling well with cold or flu like symptoms please do not come to a service in the facility.  Please join us online or listen on your radio in our parking lot.

As I look at this letter, I realize there is lots of information here.  Please if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me, Pastor Dean at 814-442-1453.  We are looking forward to gathering back together for worship!

Dear United Community Church Family,

This has definitely been a trying time for our world.  Pastor Shawn and I have been anxiously awaiting the time when we can regather as the church body.  Hopefully our time of waiting is coming to an end here in the next couple of weeks.  As I have been monitoring what the state is saying about reopening we more than likely are going to have to do some things very differently than we have in the past, at least in the short term.  I am seeking out ways that we can communicate this information to our church body.  I mailed this letter so that I would know that everyone would get it, but it is very costly to do this.  I am writing to gather some information of how we can best communicate with the church body in the least expensive way.  If the mail or telephone is the best way to communicate with you then you will not have do anything else.  We will continue to mail you information as we make decisions about reopening.  (Please check and make sure the phone number we have under your address at the top of this letter is the best phone number for you.  If it is NOT, please call the church and leave a message for the best phone to reach you.)  If you use the internet or email on a regular basis, we would like to use this method to communicate with you.  This is the least expensive and quickest way for us to communicate with you.  We are collecting contact information through our web page.  On the first page of our website is a link to update contact information.  We are collecting all your contact information – address, phone and email so we are sure everything is completely up to date.  Our website is located at www.unitedcommunityweb.org.  Please try to update your information by Wednesday, May 13, 2020.  We look forward to seeing each and every one of you very soon!
